Carriage of pets in the cabin

You can travel with your dog or your cat in the cabin in all routes operated by Aerolíneas Argentinas. The following are the general conditions of carriage:
    1.     You must have the required documentation according to your destination. See the Documentation section.

    2.     You must make your booking through our WhatsApp line (54 9 11 4940 4798) at least 72 hours before the departure of your flight (payment in advance is needed to confirm the service). You may also make the booking at the Airport, on the day of the flight ONLY, but in this case the service will be subject to availability.
    3.     Unaccompanied minors may not carry animals under this scheme.
    4.     Each passenger may carry one dog or cat and only one animal may be carried per pet carrier. Up to 2 (two) pets may be carried as checked baggage. A second pet may be carried in the hold (subject to the conditions of such carriage, see the “Carriage of pets in the hold” section).
    5.     Pets must be carried inside a carrier (crate) brought by the passenger.
    6.     Characteristics of the pet to be carried:
    • Pets must be at least 12 (twelve) weeks old to be allowed to travel, except for flights to/from the United States, in which case they must be at least 16 (sixteen) weeks old.
    • The weight allowance for carriage is 9 (nine) kilos per animal, including the carrier.
    • “Brachycephalic” dog and cat breeds will be accepted for carriage in the cabin.
    • Dogs/cats undergoing veterinary treatment are not allowed to be carried.
    • Dogs/cats displaying aggressive behavior towards people, or animals that may be dangerous or may disturb the passengers or the crew are not allowed to be carried.
    • Dogs/cats must be in good hygiene so as not to cause discomfort among passengers.
    7.     Characteristics of the trip:
    • Animals may access the VIP lounges as long as they remain inside their carrier.
    • During the flight, pets MUST NOT leave their crate or stick their head out of the carrier at any time.
    • During the flight, no food or drinks may be given to pets. Passengers must take into account the length of the trip so as to anticipate their pets’ needs.
    8.     The service is subject to availability in each cabin (The carriage of pets in Business class is not allowed in the case of international destinations operated by Airbus 330 aircraft).

As a disease prevention measure, we will ask you to carry with you a 70% alcohol solution so that you may sanitize your pet’s crate at check-in. The remaining unused solution will be disposed of, since it is considered a Dangerous Good which cannot be carried on board.

    Pet carrier acceptance conditions:
    1.     It must be a waterproof, durable, ventilated and safe carrier.
    2.     It must be big enough for the pet to be able to stand up, sit straight, turn around and lie down comfortably.
    3.     It must be placed under the seat in front of the passenger.
    4.     Maximum dimensions for carriers in both cabins:
    1.     Soft-sided crates: 44 cm long, 30 cm wide and 20 cm tall.
    2.     Hard-sided crates: 44 cm long, 30 cm wide y 17 cm tall.

If the carrier does not meet all acceptance conditions, your pet will be denied boarding in the cabin and the charge for the service will not be refunded. Should this situation arise, and as long as you meet the requirements for pet carriage in the hold, you may choose to purchase this service, but you will not be entitled to a refund of the difference between the prices of the two services.
